Adult Care Apprentice of the Year Award

The Connect2Care Heroes Adult Care Apprentice of the Year Award shines a light on the bright stars of the future in adult care. This award showcases individuals who have gone over and above as part of their apprenticeship and act as ambassadors for apprenticeships as a route into a rewarding career.

Judges will be looking for caring individuals who have excellent people skills, understand the importance of their role and are a role model to others. They’ll want to see how the apprentice has applied their learning to their role, a high level of responsibility and a passion for exceeding expectations.

Open to apprentices on the following programmes:

  • Level 2 Adult Care Worker
  • Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker
  • Level 4 Lead Practitioner in Adult Care
  • Level 5 Leader in Adult Care

Healthcare Apprentice of the Year Award

The Connect2Care Heroes Healthcare Apprentice of the Year Award celebrates emerging talent in healthcare. This award highlights those apprentices who are driven by making a difference to those in their care and are advocates for apprenticeship training to further a career in healthcare.

Judges will be looking for individuals providing an essential service who go over and above for the benefit of their patients, service users and/or colleagues. They’ll want to see how the apprentice has applied their learning to their role, a high level of responsibility and a passion for exceeding expectations.

Open to apprentices on the following programmes:

  • Level 2 Healthcare Cleaning Operative
  • Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker
  • Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker

Early Years Apprentice of the Year Award

The Connect2Care Heroes Early Years Apprentice of the Year Award honours the talented individuals who are shaping and educating the next generation. This award celebrates the apprentices who support the ongoing delivery of high-quality early years education and are a cheerleader for the career prospects offered by apprenticeships in early years.

Judges will be looking for individuals who have made a significant contribution to support the activities and development of the children in their care, with demonstrable results throughout their apprenticeship. They’ll want to see how the apprentice has applied their learning to their role, a high level of responsibility and a passion for exceeding expectations.

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner
  • Level 3 Early Years Educator

Extra Mile Apprentice of the Year Award

The Connect2Care Heroes Extra Mile Apprentice of the Year Award is a special category covering all Connect2Care apprenticeships. It recognises the talent and tenacity of those who have gone above and beyond in their apprenticeship – especially during such a difficult year due to COVID-19.

Judges will be looking for an individual who has overcome hardship or gone the extra mile to support selflessly support others. The’ll be looking for apprentices who have used their learning to implement new initiatives which have had a positive impact on their employer’s business, their service users or the local community. 

Open to apprentices on any of Connect2Care’s apprenticeships at any level.

Connect2Care’s National Apprentice of the Year Award

This special award is not open to nominations.

Open to all winners of the apprenticeship categories, this award will go to the apprentice who is this year’s rising star and has shown exceptional promise in developing their skills to make their chosen career a success.

The winner of this award will be one to look out for as the next adult care, healthcare or early years star.
